Summary: This session focuses on the use of in-situ measures and development of patient amplification prescriptions. The importance of in-situ measures is widely overlooked or misunderstood. Summary: Early childhood is a critical period for auditory, language, and cognitive development, and early identification of permanent hearing loss provides the opportunity for children to receive appropriate and timely intervention and educational services. When children are identified late, they are at increased risk of permanent speech, language, and educational delays.
