Summary: Children with developmental language disorder (DLD) can demonstrate a range of characteristics and challenges, which can appear not only in their language abilities but also in their cognitive and motor abilities. Summary: This recorded session from the ASHA Audiology 2022 Online Conference provides a comprehensive overview of today's modern and highly sensitive neurodiagnostic vestibular tests, including rotary chair, cervical and ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP), and video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT), as well as postural stability assessments. The presenters discuss how integrating these tests creates a diagnosis-based strategy that provides the team of diagnostic and rehabilitation professionals with direction and guidance as to the best vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) strategies for the individual patient. The session includes video examples of the range of VRT strategies, including adaptation and habituation.

Summary: This course explores factors that contribute to health inequities for individuals who report a hearing loss. Individuals with hearing loss report miscommunication, inaccessible health information, reduced awareness by health care providers, and low patient satisfaction while struggling with inadequate health literacy. Summary: A challenge in conducing dynamic assessment - an alternative to standardized testing that accounts for individuals' unique cultural and linguistic identities - is putting together all the information to make a clinical decision. In this course - which is broken into six 5-minute blocks - speaker Elizabeth Peña discusses using dynamic assessment to identify indicators of language difference and language disorder and how to incorporate this information into a clinical report and intervention plan. Peña gives examples and guides you through making recommendations about intervention based on dynamic assessment results.
