Summary: Teachers and administrators increasingly turn to school-based SLPs for intervention for executive functioning (EF) deficits. This session is directed toward clinicians working in schools (especially high schools) who have acquired the basic background knowledge (e.g., what is EF, what are the particular domains of EF, etc.) and need to learn how to plan and implement specific EF interventions.

Summary: Due to their cognitive-communication deficits, people living with dementia often have difficulty participating in daily activities that they previously enjoyed. This course – which is broken into six 5-minute blocks – will guide SLPs in creating activities to promote recall and increase engagement in daily activities and hobbies, namely memory stations and activities based on the Montessori approach. The presenter will provide examples of these activities and then walk you through a step-by-step template for creating them for your own clients, including giving you time to practice and reflect.

Summary: School-based SLPs who work with African American children can feel underprepared to properly evaluate their language abilities. This webinar explores variation in narrative practices common within AAE-speaking communities. Summary: Right hemisphere brain damage (RHD) commonly causes pragmatic language use impairments that are most apparent during discourse production.
