Summary: This session focuses on the assessment of pediatric voice disorders, including techniques for successful laryngeal visualization with children, differential diagnosis of vocal pathologies in the pediatric population, acoustic/aerodynamic measures of vocal function, and implementing a multidisciplinary approach for evaluation and treatment. Summary: This session analyzed the correlation between the binaural summation measured via acoustic reflex thresholds and the results of the masking level difference established for 500 Hz in 60 participants. The Pearson Correlation Analyses between the MLD values and the binaural summation revealed a significant (r= 0.277; p = 0.032) correlation when the probe stimulus was presented to the right ear and the reflex evoking clicks were presented to the left ear. Although the correlation is significant, the effect size is small, suggesting that each measure may provide information about both similar and different aspects of binaural processing and can be included in a battery of auditory processing disorders (APD) tests.

Summary: Coverage of and payment for SLP services for patients with complex medical conditions requires SLPs to navigate provider guidelines and payment systems related to multiple sites of service and multiple episodes of care. SLPs must also exhibit professional mastery of the principles of clinical decision-making pertaining to a continuum of care from intensive skilled treatment to maintenance intervention and termination of SLP care. Summary: In the era of COVID-19, clinicians in health care settings have faced challenges in the evaluation and treatment of a new patient population - those who have had COVID-19 - requiring us to reframe our current treatment techniques. This session focuses on reinventing the speech-language pathologist's approach to treatment of respiratory activity tolerance for motor speech. It addresses collaboration with physical and occupational therapists for incorporation of dual motor tasks with more traditional treatment.
