Summary: Many SLPs who provide early intervention (EI) services are aware of the neurodiversity paradigm and neurodiversity-affirming practices but still have questions about incorporating these practices into their services. The speakers will emphasize the unique characteristics that contribute to the dual diagnosis of both ASD and hearing loss. The course will explain the impacts of social determinants of health as they relate to the diagnosis of and intervention for children with ASD and hearing loss.
