Summary: SLPs across work settings face challenges associated with adapting their current evaluation and treatment methods to telepractice. Summary: Central auditory processing disorders (CAPDs) can be confusing and challenging for audiologists and speech-language pathologists alike. This session will explain the theory behind CAPDs, clarify the definition, outline some of the controversial aspects, and offer practical strategies for diagnosis and intervention. Summary: In this SIG 4 activity, authors describe ways to (a) increase speech-language pathologists’ comfort with treating stuttering by providing a structured grouping of activities centered around using education, ease, and empowerment (Gore & Margulis); (b) continue using empirical evidence and clinical experience to make informed decisions about assessment procedures for young children who stutter (Singer & Kelly); and (c) provide holistic speech-language therapy services for stuttering using telehealth (McGill & Schroth). Each of these articles provides practicing clinicians ways to gain confidence in their abilities to provide evaluations and treatment across delivery paradigms.

Summary: This session will provide information to assist clinicians in making informed, evidence-based clinical decisions about CAPD assessment and intervention. For example, a considerable body of research has demonstrated the efficiency of individual central auditory tests and test batteries based on performance of individuals – including children – with confirmed CANS lesions.
