Summary: This session discusses auditory brainstem implants (ABI) as an option for individuals who typically cannot benefit from conventional amplification or cochlear implants as they don't have an implantable cochlea or functioning 8th nerve. The session describes the ABI journey from candidacy to surgery to activation and follow-up. Summary: There has been a renewed interest in the provision of aural rehabilitation (AR) services as part of patient-centered hearing health care. Aural rehabilitation is a holistic approach to the management of hearing loss that may include patient education, fitting of devices, and auditory training exercises. Although audiologists may recognize the benefits of comprehensive AR, questions may remain about how to measure functional outcomes of these services. This course reviews functional outcome assessments for aural rehabilitation and how to incorporate these measures into everyday practice to enhance patient success.

Summary: This session reviews the emerging evidence of neurological manifestations of COVID-19 and identifies how SLPs can use their unique position to maximize patient outcomes-whether as a member of an interdisciplinary team or as a solo provider. Summary: This recorded session from the ASHA Audiology 2022 Online Conference provides a comprehensive overview of today's modern and highly sensitive neurodiagnostic vestibular tests, including rotary chair, cervical and ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP), and video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT), as well as postural stability assessments. The presenters discuss how integrating these tests creates a diagnosis-based strategy that provides the team of diagnostic and rehabilitation professionals with direction and guidance as to the best vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) strategies for the individual patient.
