Summary: There are many possible causes for childhood dizziness, which differs from adult dizziness. This session discusses the key components of a pediatric vestibular clinic and its staff, common etiologies of dizziness, risk factors of vestibular loss, and signs of vestibular dysfunction in children. Summary: This course introduces the ASHA Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Skills Inventory as a tool that SLPs can use to identify and communicate with SLPAs about clinical strengths and opportunities for growth. Routine reflection using the Skills Inventory can support collaborative planning between the SLPA and supervising SLP. Together, they can cultivate excellence in their clinical service delivery. Summary: This recorded session from the ASHA Audiology 2022 Online Conference examines the state of the literature supporting clinical decision-making about pediatric hearing aid candidacy. The speaker reviews the main types of bias that can potentially influence our thinking about who is and is not a candidate for a hearing aid. The session presents practical strategies for increasing the use of objective criteria in the clinic when assessing hearing aid candidacy and for knowing when a hearing aid may not be the right choice, with emphasis on the use of audibility as a counseling tool and in support of candidacy conversations with families of children with hearing loss.

Summary: Live captioning systems can be used in schools, clinical health/therapy settings, restaurants, banks, and other settings where captioning services are difficult to obtain or simply not available. Summary: In this course, the presenter discusses logical fallacies that commonly occur in spoken and written discourse and the social implications of passively accepting biased, illogical, and inaccurate statements. The presenter explains how SLPs can assist adolescents to deconstruct logical fallacies while addressing students' skills in speaking, listening, reading, writing, and reasoning.
