Summary: This session provides a theme-based intervention framework for SLPs who work with toddlers and preschoolers via telepractice. The session begins with a review of the evidence for using theme-based intervention to promote communication development. Next, it discusses best practices for using appropriate technology, selecting toys and digital materials that incorporate themes, and formatting telepractice sessions to keep toddlers and preschoolers engaged while addressing their goals. Finally, it shares tools for successful planning and documentation, allowing participants to leave the session with the knowledge and confidence to begin using themes in your telepractice service delivery immediately. Summary: Published research indicates that outcomes in children with hearing loss are generally lower than their hearing counterparts. Given the cascading effects auditory deprivation and language delays may cause in children, providing differential diagnoses can present a challenge. This course identifies commonly occurring comorbid presentations in children with hearing loss and describes the process of making differential diagnoses.

This webinar explores variation in narrative practices common within AAE-speaking communities. The presenters discuss widely held beliefs about narrative language and its variation, how these beliefs affect clinical practice, and insights from research into how we can expand our narrative language assessment practices to be more inclusive of culturally based narrative variation.
