Summary: Noise is prevalent in everyday life, and the general population lacks awareness of the risks of hazardous noise exposure and strategies to reduce noise-induced hearing loss. By integrating hearing loss prevention education into patient encounters and taking advantage of outreach/education opportunities, audiologists can help reduce the prevalence of noise-induced hearing loss. This course discusses the why, where, and how of integrating prevention education into your practice.

Summary: This on demand webinar (available beginning April 27, 2024) will highlight the behaviors and characteristics typically associated with hearing loss and those typically associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children from birth to age 10. The speakers will emphasize the unique characteristics that contribute to the dual diagnosis of both ASD and hearing loss. The course will explain the impacts of social determinants of health as they relate to the diagnosis of and intervention for children with ASD and hearing loss.
