Summary: This session discusses strategies to incorporate AAC throughout a student’s school day to increase their expressive output over a variety of communication opportunities. Summary: This course introduces the ASHA Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Skills Inventory as a tool that SLPs can use to identify and communicate with SLPAs about clinical strengths and opportunities for growth. Routine reflection using the Skills Inventory can support collaborative planning between the SLPA and supervising SLP. Together, they can cultivate excellence in their clinical service delivery. Summary: Individuals who stutter--as well as their families--can experience a range of emotions, thoughts, and interactions around stuttering that can negatively impact quality of life. Summary: This course explores an effective technique for building complex narrative language and thought. By "pressing pause," SLPs and students can take time to talk about and connect "thoughts" (mental states) to elements of story grammar such as initiating events, feelings, and plans. This process is integral for discovering intentions and motivations, perspective-taking, thinking critically, solving problems, and participating in social situations. Speakers also discuss a powerful way to teach "inference" using film "jump cuts."
