Summary: Speech-language pathologists recognize that the students they serve have unique strengths and challenges. However, it can be difficult to use a strengths-based approach when eligibility determination and program planning usually focus on what students can't do. It is only when we acknowledge students' assets and resources that we can support them in pursuing their life aspirations. Summary: This is the second in a two-part course is designed to bring you comprehensive information on cleft palate assessment and treatment. With this program, you will gain a comfort level in treating cleft palate/VPI and in working collaboratively with the cleft palate/craniofacial team. You’ll hone your knowledge and clinical practice skills in treating speech disorders, from glottal stops to learned nasal emission. We’ll provide treatment rationales, procedures, and techniques that are supplemented with video clips. You’ll also learn how to distinguish “learned” from “obligatory”/physically based problems.
