Summary: This webinar is for audiologists and SLPs who are currently supervising-or planning to supervise-students, clinical fellows, or other professionals, as well as for supervisees. The speaker will review relevant parts of the ASHA Code of Ethics that directly relate to supervision, discuss common ethical dilemmas that can arise during the supervision process, and walk through a critical-thinking process to address these dilemmas. Summary: Infants born with congenital heart defects (CHD) experience unique pre- and post-surgical complications that impact their ability to develop skills to successfully feed orally. This session reviews the disruptions to oral feeding development in infants with CHD and offers strategies to help infants thrive in their feeding skills after surgery. This session is intended for advanced clinicians who work with this special population.

Summary: This presentation highlights case studies exhibiting the SLP's role in assessing and treating previously healthy toddlers with disorders of consciousness in the acute rehab setting. These case studies demonstrate the opportunities and challenges of utilizing the pediatric Coma Recovery Scale when assessing these patients, the relationship between emerging oral motor skills and cognition, and treatment approaches for returning to PO intake in this population. Finally, these case studies highlight how interdisciplinary collaboration is one of the keys to success with this patient population.
