Summary: Social communication involves the integration of language processing, pragmatics, and social and emotional learning, and is a challenge for children who present with developmental language disorder, autism spectrum disorder, and social communication disorder. This session presents a bibliotherapeutic intervention approach that SLPs can implement within a plan-do-review format. This practical approach utilizes brief (~15 minutes) story sharing, story enactment, and journaling activities. The speakers present preliminary efficacy data for the intervention approach as well as provide materials and resources for its implementation. Summary: This is the second in a two-part course is designed to bring you comprehensive information on cleft palate assessment and treatment. With this program, you will gain a comfort level in treating cleft palate/VPI and in working collaboratively with the cleft palate/craniofacial team. You’ll hone your knowledge and clinical practice skills in treating speech disorders, from glottal stops to learned nasal emission. Summary: SLPs are increasingly involved in the care of patients with head and neck cancer.
