Summary: This course explores an effective technique for building complex narrative language and thought. By "pressing pause," SLPs and students can take time to talk about and connect "thoughts" (mental states) to elements of story grammar such as initiating events, feelings, and plans. This process is integral for discovering intentions and motivations, perspective-taking, thinking critically, solving problems, and participating in social situations. Speakers also discuss a powerful way to teach "inference" using film "jump cuts."

Summary: This on demand webinar examines the continuum of picky eating and explores reasons why children become “picky” across several developmental domains. The speaker focuses on the oral motor and sensory skills necessary for transitioning from liquids to puree, meltable, and eventually textured table foods within the first year of life. Summary: Gene therapy offers the promise to correct inherited forms of hearing loss as well as acquired forms such as noise-induced hearing loss, ototoxicity, and presbycusis. However, there are several barriers that must be overcome before such potential can be realized. This course describes the conceptual framework that governs gene therapy today, reveals how this framework has influenced current progress, and discusses a re-imagining of inner ear gene therapy with the goal of achieving outcomes that are clinically relevant and realistic.
