This webinar reviews the evolution of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), examines myths and misunderstandings about this service delivery context, and discusses the essential components of thorough implementation. Presenter Maureen Staskowski highlights the differences among MTSS, RTI, and “treating students off-caseload” and discusses using MTSS to help students with both decoding and language comprehension in the framework of the Simple View of Reading. Lastly, the presenter shares tips for coping with workload issues related to MTSS and advocating for SLPs’ contributions to raising student outcomes using MTSS.
